I'm a noob and I have been looking for a way to dual boot my G73 with Linux and havent found one. Can someone link me to a tutorial or something? or post the directions?
Is it better to dual boot or just use VMWare (or something similar) ?

It should be exactly the same as setting up a dual boot with any other computer.
Install OS > Partition drive (if needed, not needed if you have two drives) > Install second OS on second partition or drive.
That's pretty much it - some OS's will need to be installed before others. Always install the earlier version first, so that when you install the second, you get full compatibility, and always install your Linux or BSD distro after you install Windows. It's that simple. -
you can dual boot ubuntu with windows 7 first installed with no problems with GRUB?
