100% with you on that one! Although, I believe, that since the graphics arent as good as crysis 2, they could'v/should'v made it longer.

I still love playing zelda on my n64, cause its epic ^^. Its what made my childhood!.

*ps: I think you just created the perfect combo, the strenght of crysis, and the humour of mario's mustache !

Agreed but why advertise it as all new and better then ever if its a old project dusted and reworked abit?

After i got the game it felt like a bad movie that they advertise by using the only good shots form it and the rest is.....well dry.

Love the crytech Mario. Would love to play it....hmm you need to send out some e-mails to game developers A.S.P :D

Nintendo never was about graphics and will never be... Nintendo feels a bit like arcades to me.

But for DNF, the graphics are dated, but it's not a big deal. I think what's the worse out of the visuals is the animations. They are really poor... Look at Duke's foot when he steps on a shrunk alien for exemple. I just hate the animations of when you kill an alien or destroy something. You blow up a ship, but instead ot really blowing up and falling, it will suddenly be a wreck standing there like if it was since always. They just add a few effects on it when it happens, to "hide" it.

I find that characters are looking good for DNF's dated graphics, but their animations screws it all. If you don't stand in front of each character that talks to you, they will just be talking in the wrong direction, they're not even turning their head arround or having facial animations (most of them) and well it bothered me. Characters are supposed to be bringing life to games, but when they are too scripted in their actions and also just talks to the walls instead of talking to you, it removes life from the game.

"If you don't like it why did you buy it?" Maybe because it's DUKE and we waited way too long and were really excited to finally play it?

But yes, I think it's good too that GBX has Duke's rights... Because this one was 3DR's work. Next time GBX can do what they want and I'm curious about it.

I played the game for 20 minutes and then uninstalled. It was that bad. You know at the end of the demo when it turns out you're just playing a game whilst you're with two lady friends? It feels like those characters are actually just the personification of the two developers. Plays like absolute crap.

Now Red Faction Armageddon, at least that's pretty fun and has nice looking models and textures.

well i loved the game simply coz its duke and it's finally out..

it's dated.. yes.. but it's duke!!
I think gearbox deserves some amount of respect for finally releasing this..
Sure they could have acquired the rights and then gone about developing it for another 3-4 years and done it properly but i dont care, i like it for what it is!

the only thing that i disliked was the 2 weapon limit..

PS: perhaps some of you are bitter because of the price.. It only cost Rs450 ~ $10 where i live so maybe that's why i like it even more. IMHO 2k should have really priced this lower as ofcourse for most people it's not worth a full priced game but again.. it's duke!

Because people were expecting it to at least be a dumb but fun action game, not a poorly-paced mess of gimmicks.

And the graphics aren't bad because they're old, they're bad because the art design is crap and everything is monochromatic. It's not that it looks like a game from 2006, it's that it looks like an ugly game from 2006. Other games from that era have held up just fine because the art isn't garbage and the engine isn't hacked together.

OK, the game is not CoD, it doesn't have the SCII plot nor even the GFX of Crysis2, but it's Duke, it's back and is a representative sequel of the Duke Nuken 3D. As is, a sequel of the original, is very enjoyable and many memories came to my head when playing.... if your first FPS was any gamepad XBOX(360) game, the game it's not for you.

The real problem with this game is it came out to late.

and because of that, it's sucks :)

    HEEL TO THE KING BABY!!!

    What?

    No.

I started playing FPS back when Wolfenstein 3D came out, I still remember playing Hollywood Holocaust for the first time and being blown away by how detailed it was and how many different ways there were to go through the level. Duke Nukem Forever adopts every single trend from modern console FPS that exist, from a two weapon system to regenerating health to completely linear levels filled with "interactive" cutscenes to loading a new stage every other minute to ridiculously low player limits in multiplayer to repetitive turret sections to pointless vehicle interludes to small enemy counts to infinite ammo crates for boss fights to random quick time events, and so on. Hell, even the melee attack has been changed from the mighty boot to smacking the enemy with a gun.

Just because Duke Nukem is in the game doesn't somehow mean it's a victory for old school PC FPS action. This thing has way, way more in common with Halo than Duke Nukem 3D, and a couple boob jokes from Jon St John doesn't change that. It's a console shooter through and through, and that's one of the biggest reasons so many people are disappointed with it.

Hey dude, relax, did you read my whole post.... the game sucks and we agree on that.... but still it's doesn't mean you cannot enjoy something bad/boring/uncompleted.

In this current scenario when all the game are super productions with hollywood scripts (anyone said CoD?) or so real Documentary scripts (anyone hear Battlefield 3?) games are DNF of course will suck. If people start gaming in 360 won't understand anything about duke.

On the other hand the game takes 14 years in the making, was rebuild from scratch many times, change at least 3 times of engine, 4 studios.... at the end, was almost released as is and people were all the time aware of it.

At the end, are you expecting something epic of a game in which a blond hero shoots against piggies and flying lizards, yelling how cool he is is and always looking for boobs and babies, or babies with boobs, or even alien boobs? ... not my case, I was expecting something with (some sort of) funny moments and that was DNF... already finished and already uninstalled.

    Hail to the King!!!!!

The thing is, it's trying to be epic and trying to have a story and trying to compete with today's big console shooters. It's failing miserably at all of them, but I wouldn't say it's a "representative sequel" to Duke 3D because all it really kept were the dumb jokes. :)

No big fps drops with low action? If not, it's probably because Nvidia has better drivers for the game lol
