Firstly apologies if this model number has been brought up already but 2 questions before i go out and try an attempt again at purchasing the bb73jh rbbx05 model.

Is it recommended to purchase a model from them that has been returned and "checked" by them? How good is their checking?

and the model number jox-03xxxx was what i went and saw at the last bb i went to before they sold out, any info no what type of screen comes in this model?

heading out to go buy today on short notice.

    thank you for any help.

ty panzer, so it seems jox-0xxxxx, if i get 01 then i am more likely to get lg, 02 auo definately and 03 is up in the air at this point unless someone with that number can made it be known what type of screen they got.

with that being answered how much would you rate best-buy when it comes to models that were returned? as to how well do they check them and such?

J0X-03xxxx is a new number I have not seen yet. More often than not, J0X numbers starting with 0xxxxx are AUO screens.

Here is my thought on the situation.
If it has been returned and Best Buy checked it out and it is considered "good" to them, then someone returned it because it's an AUO screen, not LG.

If it has already been opened, you should ask to open the box up.
If the stickers are on the right side, then it's an LG. If the stickers are on the left, then I would ask to turn it on and check to see what screen it is.

This is all referenced in my thread which panzer06 linked above.

ok thank you. well seems it is more safer to me to just go and check then.

apart of me is hoping it is cause the persons that bought it did all the updates and were freezing from either the creative bugs, fn+esc, catalyst update 10.x, etc.... lol

Is this the only one they have in stock? Any other best buys close you could call and make the trip there?

I am curious of your findings though on the J0X-03xxxx. I would like to update my thread (with credit to you of course).

Keep us posted what you find out!

    Thanks.

the model with the 03 was bought 10mins before i reached the best buy closest to me unfortunately :'( was soo looking forward to getting my g73 and they didnt allow me to look into it since the person that they had taken it out for was waiting.

the best buy that i will be heading to has 2 that were returned. so if both are of the jox-02xxxx type i will make sure to make you know ;)

edit: pretty much all the best buys within 1hour drive except this one have in stock at the moment.

I personally wouldn't buy a returned one from Best Buy, as somebody had enough reason to bring it back in the first place.

The one I returned had a dead speaker, but unless you knew what to look for, you'd never realize it, just that the sound wasn't what it was suppose to be.

Plus, I'd worry about GPU problems, as maybe an intermittent problem was why the previous owner returned it. I had a G51 I returned for this reason.
