    Hello,

I just purchased a G73 (BB) and cannot for the life of me figure out how to use Express Gate. The Express Gate software is installed, and I ran the repair executable just to be sure. According to the Express Gate manual all I have to do is push a button with the laptop off and it will activate. What am I missing?

    Thanks!

p.s. I know this is probably bloat that I will not use, but it's bothering me not to be able to figure it out!

    Which button are you pressing?

If I remember right, it should be the Twin Turbo button (middle button, top left).

Tried it...tested...it works (haven't tried it since I first got the G73) :)

Now I know if I absolutely have to play Farmville fast I can boot to ExpressGate. Sometimes I just can't wait the 10 seconds to boot from my SSD hehe.

I removed expressgate when I dropped MSDNAA windows 7 pro on my machine. Is it actually useful or how fast does it actually come up?

(I'm using a 128GB Indilinx SSD as primary)

oh that is the button! I thought it was the space button since it contains the express gate logo on it , quite misleading..

The one and only time I tried ExpressGate, before removing it, I believe I did use the space bar because of the logo. I found it useless and would have preferred diagnostic tools instead.

Comes up in about 5 seconds for me.

Useful? To someone maybe. To me, I can't imagine ever using it since I can boot to full OS by waiting 5 more seconds.

I wouldn't recommend using express gate. (I tried it it sucks...)
there are many Linux distributions that are made to be fast booting (no eye candy but still look cool and will do a lot more than your Express Gate)
    check puppy linux among others.
