    7.1 that doesnt sound like crap tends to cost a lot. Looking at the price tag on this one, I would really suggest you stay away from it.

    I ordered the Asus Xonar U3. It was $39 at NCIX and Amazon. That one is 5.1 surround i believe, but its impressive array of Dolby tech will make any sound that comes out of it far more convincing than that soundwave thing.

    I haven't received my U3 yet, so i cant comment on the sound quality, but I have owned a laptop with similar dolby features built in, and it was amazing. Reviews seem to suggest that the U3 is incredible for the price too.. so you should look into it if your not too deadset on true 7.1.
