I just got my external monitor and it's flickering if my laptop is plugged in the wall. When I unplug it, it stops. I tried using a surge bar, seems to lower it a bit but it's still there.

I am using the VGA cable that came with it. I am waiting to get my hdmi cable.

Check what your clocks are and if they are changing when you plug it in.

I have not had any issues at all with HDMI but I used to have nothing but trouble with the VGA output on my other G series.

I checked clock and phase settings and nope it's really the AC thing... We see that on many laptops. I have it fixed right now (ground loop thing... it can be googled) but still I just hope it will be fine with the hdmi.
