Just got a shiny new G53SW, but there's a problem with the FN key. After every reboot/shutdown, it stops working.

There's a fix: Program Files (x86)> ASUS> ATK Hotkey and double click hcontrol

But it's annoying to have to do that every time I log. I suppose I could script it to run on startup, but that seems retarded to a brand new laptop. Is there a long term solution to this?

It's a good system, but I'm thinking of taking it back to the store as DOA and getting a replacement, dunno.

Uninstall the ATK package through control panel, get the latest version from Asus' support site, it should be 1.00014 and install that. I' guessing it is a corrupted installation of your ATK package.
