Hey all, I'd appreciate a little help to help me decide if this is the right choice for me.

1.) I'd like the high res version; does it play Bad Company 2 well? And will it play upcoming FPS titles at native res? (I don't need ultra settings)
2.) Have most issues been worked out? I notice a lot of talk about GSOD that worries me a bit.
3.) I'm in NY - any recommendation on a reseller that can overnight this sucker?
4.) Would you buy your machine again? Any regrets?

    Thanks!!!

Check out my signature, I think It will cover everything. Currently, asus is working on a vbios update to fix all gsod issues. There is currently a beta version available.

Currently, there has been reports of the 10.8 drivers not causing gsod as long as you update to bios 209. HOWEVER, there are people that are saying they do gsod with bios 209 and 10.8 ati drivers.

same for the vbios beta. Keep following asus updates and vbios thread for updates from asus. Gary (rep) is working on it hard.

    did I miss anything?

edit - I have no gsod issues (I do have rare ones that happen. like a 3% chance of happening). But I am using bios 206. I'm happy with my g73.

    Thanks appreciate that.

Would it be best to keep everything in stock form?

for now, maybe. you can give 10.8 a try if you want. No harm in not trying. If it doesn't work for you, just uninstall it and install the stock drivers again.

I was going to suggest looking at the X5 version from MicroCenter for instant gratification, but you ordered already. Where did you get it from?

The B1 would have been my other recommendation

I'm happy with mine, and I just went through RMA hell and got a GSOD unit back (after sending in a non-GSOD unit). Having said that, I'm still happy with it. It's a nice machine, even if it is stuck on 9.12 drivers. Having said THAT, i'm going to continue RMA-ing it until I get a non-GSOD unit back.
