Hey guys as all of you guys know, FFXIV is being released tomorrow. I have yet to update my video card drivers from stock and my BIOS/vBIOS is also stock. My question is will I need to update all of these things in order to play the game or was that only mandatory to run the benchmark? Thanks for your help!

Open Beta GSOD'd on me while I was on stock everything. Went to 211 and Chastity's vBIOS and 10.8 ATI and no more GSOD's. I can't report till tomorrow as far as any retail release issues.

Nobody knows. As another user said, for him in beta the new vBios and latest drivers resolved his issue.

The final product is not always the same or have the same issues as the beta.

Have fun with FF XIV, I won't be joining as I will wait for GW2 instead :p

I would suggest updating the BIOS and Vbios to prevent issues from happening in the near or distant future as it will probably make your experience a much better one with the machine. I updated, haven't regretted it. I'm with Ziddy though, tried the Beta and didn't feel it was worth the P2P experience so I'm gonna wait for GW2, it seems a little more innovative.
