Well:
1.My avg GPU Temperature is 53.1C, while I'm on the internet (this web for example) Is that normal?
1.2My AC Adapter is extremly hot, is that normal?
2.On my second boot, after I updated the system, I got the blue screen... Why?
3.I had to get a mice with the laptop, am I right?(Because I didn't)
4.What to do now? (updates, softwares...)
Thanks!

1. My GPU idle temp after 6 months of owning the laptop is still 47C. This is after I've left my laptop on for days on end, all the time downloading, browsing and watching movies.
1.2 Yes. The ac adapter does become hot when it's on for a long time and while gaming. That is normal.
2. What did it say? I've never got a BSOD till now *touchwood*
3. The latest drivers can be found on Chastity's page. Get everything you need from there. Install the latest drivers after doing a clean install. Softwares... Install only what you need. Nothing more. -
And the ambient temp here in India is high too. So i think my temps are extremely good.
-
1.it was the blue screen error (0000x00....)
2.Well. so my 51~53C is good(ok?)?
3.About the AC Adapter, when I leave the laptop for downloads only (torrent), it become hot.
What about the mice? I should get with it? Because I got the backpack with the laptop.
Well, I was thinking to buy an OC Stock (that Ointment thing.. termit or somthing like that). -
What is OC stock? Is it a thermal compound? Never heard of it. If it's thermal paste you plan on buying, I'd say buy ICD or Arctic silver.
50-53c is normal i guess. Where are you from? What is your approximate room temp?
If yours is the A1 version, it should come with a mouse and a backpack. If you didn't get a mouse, mail the place you bought it from. They should help you out. Not that the mouse is great. I got a Razer Abyssus. I think the new ones come with a different mouse. -

hi WaffleBoy, so did you get the backpack with it, i know you werent quite sure if it was coming or not. The mouse should be been in there too. Alot of people miss it though. It's normally tucked away in the cardboard that surrounds the notebook. Take everything out and check all unfold the cardboard until its all flat, you should find it that way.
-
^True. I forgot to mention that. That's How i found my mouse after thinking that powernotebooks forgot to send me mine or someone flicked it while in transit. It was tucked away, all hidden between some flaps in the cardboard box.

Alright thanks
and another thing, I played Devil May Cry 4/UT3 on the highest settings PLUS FHD, and I got almost 80C. Is that ok?
-
Hey FlyingFalcon,
I know this is not related to the current topic.......... I noticed u r frm India....... How did u go abt getting the Asus G53 SW from powernotebook did they take care of Customs and everything...... and if you dont mind telling me how much did it all come to??
Thanks,

Powernotebooks did not ship it to me. I got it shipped to my friend's house in Kentucky and her dad brought it to India. It cost me $1500 in all. If you ship it here, it'll turn out to be too expensive. Hope it helps. -

Now I have 85C on GTA IV ALL MAX with FHD. ..
-
Does it cross 85? Mine doesn't cross 84 no matter what. GTA 4 is a very CPU intensive game too so yes. That temp looks good.
-
no, never crossed the 85, the range is 75~82, with cooler (Cooler Master U2). 72~78

That Bsod bothers me, but the first thing to do is to wipe out completely the os and install a fresh one from scratch since the Asus shipped os is not upgraded and ridden with all sorts of bloatware and still performs slowly, even if you unistall them.
The bsod could be caused from some of those installed programs.
Anyway my g53 even overclocked at 840/1680/1600 tops 84c with everything so you're good to go. Idling on desktop sits around 44-46c while browsing goes up to 50c but that's normal since alot of webpages uses flash, every flash component displayed forces the card to use 3d clocks so that makes it a bit hot.
You can turn off hardware acceleration in flash but that will use CPU, increasing temp over the CPU instead the gpu.
Also be sure to run latest 285.27 betas as they do wonders instead of Asus built in gpu drivers. You will need a modded inf for it; check my signature for a tutorial.
Also I've seen you posting in the gaming subforum that you have an fps drop while gaming; remember that we are forced to use ThrottleStop in order to prevent the CPU from throttling from fullspeed to 789mhz. You need just to launch it and turn it on.
If you don't do this you'll always experience fps drop/jittering/stuttering in alot of games so I highly advice to use it. -
Alright, thank you, you really helped me, both of you. I will try to o/c tomorrow (first time)
-
If you haven't done a clean install, do it. I assumed for some reason that you did (either that or I confused this thread with another similar one). Get ALL the latest drivers from Chastity's site. Hopefully you won't have BSODs ever again.
Finally I got the G53SW-A1, with some questions.
