I couldn't find related threats on my issue, although does anyone perhaps know why my game alt+tab's when I press any key that displays a small HUD of what i pressed. For example, Caps Lock, Number Lock. It appears in the bottom right hand corner and the game minimizes hanging only 1/5 of the view of window on the top half of my screen.

Ofcourse I suspect the ATK Hotkeys or whatever they are called, but I'm not grading anything because this G73 works great, I've been through two RMA's and I'm not changing to the wrong drivers to mess anything up. lol

Let me get this straight. All your games run great, even BFBC2 runs great untillyou press the ''shift lock'' or ''num lock keys'' ?
Did you assign ''shift/num lock'' to any specific movement or action?
Cause its normal to BFBC2 when you press just the shiftlock key that it kind of minimizes your game. I say 'kind of' cause the game itself doesnt minimize to the tray, instead the game gets windowed, and you can dragg it to whereever you want. Like that you can open anything else like your browser, and if you want to continue the game, you don't have to go down your taskbar, but just click the windowed game.Don't ask me why they did this. It's like Modern Warfare 2. alt+ shift doesnt work there eighter. They just made it that way. Instead you can try Ctrl+Esc in MW2, like you can press shift lock in BC2. Catch my drift ?

First I would check if it's a Windows accessibility "feature" that needs to be turned off. Google "windows 7 caps lock notification" and you'll get many articles about turning that stuff off.

Other than that, it's pretty much up to you to find the offending software and either adjust its settings accordingly or remove it.

I use the stock ATK package and I have never seen any onscreen notification when using the toggle keys, so if there IS that feature, it must be disableable. I can't even find a way to turn that feature on :) I DO see that issue with my external USB keyboard but it's easy to turn off in that device's settings.

    Good luck!

Try killing the atk hotkeys processes before you go in-game and see if it behaves the same way. You can probably restart it by logging off/logging back in (yes, this is a pain, but I'm just trying to isolate the problem once).

When I play Just Cause 2, the ATK overlay un-fullscreens the screen. But I can just alt tab to the desktop, then alt tab back to the game and it's all set.
