I've had the G73 best buy model for a little over 4 hours up and running now. In that time, I've done the following:

    Installed Steam
    Installed MSN Messenger
    Installed iTunes
    Downloaded 2 Steam Games
Downloaded thing for my USB mouse
    Installed Malware Bytes
    Installed AVG Free

And in the past 4 hours, the following has happened to me:

    Computer locked up three times
    Programs constantly freezing

I have no idea what the issue is. I unplugged my mouse and headphones, now I'm using the touchpad. It's stuttering occasionally as well, like when I'm typing this text, it just froze for about a second before catching up.

I bought this at a Best Buy 45 minutes away, and I really, really, REALLY don't want to ask someone to drive me up there (no driver's license) again, especially since it hasn't even been a day.

Has anyone heard of these issues/problems? Anyone have a fix? I'm going mad here, and nothing seems to be a real trigger. It's happened when I've had 10+ programs opened, and the most recent one happened on start-up, some Best Buy pre-stalled app was loading and the whole thing just locked up.

To clarify, these are lock-ups. The program isn't freezing, the entire PC is Locking up. I cannot move the mouse, type, exit, Control-alt-delete, etc. It's an entire lock up.

Can anyone offer some advice? I'm desperate here, I mean this is driving me mad. I've heard nothing of any issues like this, and only heard good things about this computer.

Now that I think about it, Best Buy did have to search for this laptop, maybe it's somehow damaged. I really hope not. Can anyone help me out? Thanks.

Remove AVG. I installed AVG when my free AV has been expired then I'm getting lock-ups. I use NOD32 now.
