My G73JH started freezing like hell, I can barely get passed the startup (sometimes I can't). I only use my laptop to work or to game at friend's, so I do not use it that much now and I didn't do anything special with it. The thing is that I really need it working right now, its horrible.

It works in safe mode, so I guess drivers are the issue? Any thoughts on this? I didn't update anything since a while so I don't really understand why it's doing this right now.

what ATI drivers are you using? did you over clock anything?
what are your system and GPU temperatures?

too many questions come to mind as you can see when it comes to freezing pcs

Seeing that you can't load the system anymore with out freezing. I would try a safemode again, and do a /scannnow also try the Microsoft ram tester that's built into windows 7. system freezes can be caused by bad drivers, bad ram, and bad hardware failing. it's a horrible thing because it doesn't file a report with windows so we have to guess whats wrong. but those are the places to start. also you could try chkdsk /r

then there is system restore. but I'd hold off on that tell you've checked disc first.

also check your windows event viewer for any error messages being reported. those are the clues.

i just got a freeze after i turned it off unproperly
so i just turned it off properly and after i start it it works fine
few users discovered this freezing bug and that's probably becouse of the x-fi software if you have it installed
    but that's my opinion

I did a few checks and tests but everything was fine...

My temps are fine, I repasted my gpu before and my cpu is fine. I'm on the latest ATI drivers right now (just updated them). I will see if it fails again, wich I hope not.
