I brought my G73 to replace my ageing desktop pc, i sold my pc but kept the retail windows 7 home premium. I installed a ssd in my g73 and and used the retail win 7 as a fresh install but installed all the drivers and software from the G73 disk. Now its 4 months on and did not do any kind of backup plan so i wanted to reinstall windows 7 and use the fresh install guide from this great site. The other thing is my wife has my old acer aspire 6530G and that has windows vista on so i thought i could use my retail windows 7 to install on my wifes acer and download the legal windows 7 iso download from links on here and use my G73 windows key on the bottom of my G73 to activate but i'm having problems i hope someone can help. I have burned the legal windows 7 home premium and it starts to boot when i start the install but i get this on the pics below. Why.

    This

Then this when i click ok

I also downloaded the expanded Setup legal win 7 but i don't know what i supposed to do with it.

Could i use my reail windows 7 disk i've used on my wifes acer on my g73 but use my g73 key.

Try to install from the retail disc. If that one doesn't give you an error it most probably is that your downloaded ISO is corrupted. Try download it again.

Ya i tried with the retail and that goes through ok, can i not use my retail win 7 home prem on both laptops. Use the retail on the acer with the key that came with that and the g73 with the key on the underside.

That shoul work fine. I have a windows 7 upgrade copy & license, but I use my burned windows 7 disk and it works fine with my upgrade key. Basically the reverse of what you are doing.

As long as you have the key from the belly of the laptop you should be able to use any OEM disc or .iso to do the install. You will have to activate it by calling it in most likely, but that is an easy 10 minute process. Annoying, but easy. Just remember that the answer to "how many computers have you used this copy of windows on" is 1(this computer), not zero, and it certainly isnt two, but 1. As long as that is the truth you should be golden.
