Hey everyone, i know people have been experiencing problems with atheros wifi card because lets face it , it is crap.

I have done a few tests with the drivers to see which is the most stable.

Currently im using the latest one : 10.0.0.75. on my G75VW and on my G73SW it is running 8.0.0.259 which is a bit more stable.

It is okay but still a bit laggy when i game and sometimes it dcs for a few secs.

Could you guys post your driver version so we can determine which is the best suitable driver.

10.0.0.75 here. ar9285 atheros. works fine. but i agree card is useless in terms of range and speed. i ordered the intel 6200 should be here tomorrow. you could use tcp optimzer. it really helped me get better speeds (download speed went up and ping decreased loads). another thing is when you are installing the atheros driver. make sure you uninstall the old one prior to installing the new one. the name on deivce manager should change to Qualcomm Atheros AR9285 Wireless Network Adapter.

Just a FYI, but I upgraded to the 6300, and I did a full teardown, and replaced my antennae with some I got from ebay to have a 3-way system. Working very well.

You may be experiencing some latency issues, and you should test for that.

been using the 6200 for a few days now and its much more better than previous atheros card. i now have max bars for reception. i am on a 100mb connection and via wifi receive about 82mb which aint bad for the crappy superhub virgin media provides. with the atheros i only used to get 38mb max. i am using a cat 6e cable atm so aint going to add third antenna and upgrade to the 6300. thanks for info tho chastity.
