    Hello everyone

I have Asus G1S with the following specs
    Processor:Intel Core2DuoT7250 2000mhz
    Nvdia 8600m GT
    currently on 2gb ram

I know tha this model is known for its faulty nVidia chip but I've never had any problems with it so far, in fact I was able to paly a lot of games on decent settings without any problems...

It was all OK but recently it was infected with some virus and I had to format it.

Before reinstalling windows I'd like to know if I can upgrade the RAM to 4gb and if the answer is yes what RAM should I buy...

    Sorry I know I'm a noob..

Yes, you can upgrade, but you need DDR2 SODIMM RAM which is going to be expensive. DDR3 won't work.

thanks.. I remember I asked my local tech about that sometime ago and he told me that there's no reason to upgrade since the system will recognize and use just 2gb.. hence I didn't upgrade it.
