An old computer I know but my kids have been using it for school and what not but today it developed an issue. When it starts I here the ROG explosion on startup, but I do not see it and also dont see anything at all so I have no idea were the boot sequence is at (my son did a hard reset with the power button so dont know how far boot progresses.) I have tried connecting it to my LCDTV via HDMI to try and get a picture but no signal or signal not supported. Not sure what else to do any help would be appreciated.

Take out the battery and then hold down the power button for 15 seconds. Connect to AC and see if it posts. If still nothing on the screen try taking out the battery on the motherboard that powers the capacitors that stores the BIOS settings.

That model of laptop is notorious for the 'nvidia defect', the symptoms of which are exactly what you have described. Basically, the video card is bricked and the motherboard needs to be replaced.

Try googling 'nvidia defect G1S', or you can read about the issue here:

Reminds me of my overheating HP Pavilion dv26xx. Stupid Nvidia Litigation is US only and doesn't seem to cover my model either. The piece of crap hasn't died yet since I barly used it.
