I just recently got a hold of a G46VW and upgraded it to a 3840QM and a modded bios and I love this laptop! I came from a W110ER. So one thing I notice, the trackpad SUCKS, It's borderline unusable! I did some searches but didn't find much to my surprise. It's made by elantech. Does anybody else have this laptop and have any complaints on the trackpad?

I have the g46vw and I don't really use the touchpad , but I haven't found it unusable . Works pretty good for me. I have found that any nvidia drivers after 327 won't let my 660m boost. Good luck and make sure the most up to date touchpad drivers are installed

It seems to have good vertical resolution but horrible horizontal resolution as it seems to jump around a lot. Drag your finger from the bottom right corner to the top hand corner and you'll see what I mean. It will follow a zig zag pattern.

Download nvidia inspector and use this in a shortcut to fix that. nvidiaInspector.exe -setVoltageOffset:0,0,0 -setGpuClock:0,2,1150 -setMemoryClock:0,2,2800 -forcepstate:0,0

You'll want to create a shortcut to let it idle again too.

It does depend, that shortcut lets my GPU idle. I do have it set to "adaptive" in the advanced settings under nvidia inspector.

Interesting I would have thought the force command would apply to the idle states too but apparently not, never mind then.
