I am considering getting a G46VW and wanted to see if I can get a question answered first. If I went with this laptop I would be swapping out the HDD for a 2.5" SSD that I already own. I saw the disassembly video, but believe that was either geared towards complete disassembly or how to install the mSATA. Since I am looking to just swap out the HDD for a 2.5" SSD can someone point me towards more specific steps/video to this task? Thanks in advance!

It's going to be the same initial steps in the video, but you'll only need to go so far as removing the top panel/keyboard... the HDD sits under the keyboard/touchpad easily accessible once they are removed. Then it's just a matter of reassembly. Be careful with the ribbon connectors attached to the top panel/keyboard, but other than that it's pretty straight forward. Definitely not as simple as a single access panel removal, but still straight forward if you are comfortable with laptop assembly. Once you see the custom battery inside which gives the fantastic duration unplugged, you'll appreciate why they had to design it this way.

Good luck, let us know if you have further questions... for the size/performance/price I can't think of a better machine

Awesome response! Thank you very much! I've torn down a laptop before so I feel pretty confident and the video will definitely help.
