    guys This is kinda about the OLED,

    I recently clean installed windows 7 and it works great but after I installed all the drivers and stuff the touch buttons don't seem to work and I can't change what the OLED says or how my backlights work, it was ok at first but now I'm leaving my laptop on overnight downloading torrents and I would like to have the backlights off

    Has anybody gotten the touch buttons to work with a clean install of windows 7?

    Find the G50vt drivers and then download and run everything under the ATK option. You might find DirectConsole around there, too to control the lights.

    Alternatively, there's the hardware method for disabling lights: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=383177

    Hope this helps!

    You need the DirectConsole to use all of the touch buttons except for "Disable TouchPad" and the boot quicly to linux stuff. If you install DirectConsole, you ARE able to use LCDHype, but it'll be extremely annoying since the direct console updates the screen too(can't turn the updating off unless you close directconsole if I remember correctly), so it flickers a lot.

    Anyone else having trouble with the OLED inverting colors? I'm using the newest version of LCDHype and the driver posted here. I'm running Hahutzy's (very nice) CPU/RAM/PWR +Date/Time script.

    Update: I've now discovered that the OLED inverts colors between the hours of 6:00AM and 6:00PM, meaning from 6:00PM to 6:00AM the colors display correctly. I manually set the Windows 7 clock to 5:30AM a moment ago, and sure enough, the OLED went back to correct colors. This is so strange. Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?

    It's not LCDHype neither OLED driver problem, the script Hahhutzy posted is made to work this way, inverting colors every 12 hours so the OLED doesn't burn the same pixels over and over again, but inverting the pixels that were "burned" the last 12 hours, so the overall OLED burning picture would be (almost) equal for all the pixels... To remove this effect, remove the lines I post below, mind that it's better to leave it this way, else your OLED will burn the same pixels overtime making it look really weird if you decide to show something else in the future.

    Code:
      /Switching Backlight/
      %If((6 <= %System.GetDateTime(h)) AND (%System.GetDateTime(h) <= 17))
       Then
       {
           %Param.InvertMode(1)
           %Assign(Inversion,1)
           %Graph.Pen(0,30,1)
           %Graph.LineTo(256,30,2)
       }
       Else
       {
           %Param.InvertMode(0)
           %Assign(Inversion,0)
           %Graph.Pen(0,30,0)
           %Graph.LineTo(256,30,2)
       }

    Awesome, thanks for the quick response! Before I knew this was intentional I was considering that it might be useful to prevent burn-in. I'm a novice, but next time I'll take a closer look at the scripting. I decided just to change the timeframe that the colors invert to a time when I am less active on the machine.

    I would consider even smaller intervals, like 10 minutes for example...tho my megascript has autochange and screensaver that ensures you will not end up with the same picture for more than 30 seconds

    LCDHype has some major API changes, I need to make a configuration xml for every plugin I did, maybe later next week will do that. The OLED driver should work, tho I received emails from users complaining that LCDHype 0.7 has different OLED driver (approx. 700KB), you should re-download the driver from the link in my signature and overwrite with it the default one

    Yeah I replaced the stock one with yours and it works, but it doesn't see any of the plugins (as you just addressed)

    I only use the everest, mbm, gled, and lcdfraps ones.

    I don't have performance issues with the G50VT-X6 like I did with the G1S-X1 so I can afford to live for a while without those annoying crash screens every time I come up from standby until Predator_MF does his thing...

    Yeah it does show only the first line, I didn't dig deeper into Skype API for chat reading, but I remember I tried couple of different implementations and all end up showing only the first line of the conversation...it's just Skype returning it that way. It does not satisfy me the best but still I can see if someone is sending me a message. I don't really have the nerves to dig into that code, maybe one sunny day... plus if something is working, better not touch it :D

    Downgrade to LCDHype 0.6.0.5, that is, download 0.6 and then upgrade it with 0.6.0.5 files.

    Version 0.7 requires alot of tweaking to run the same plugins and it's not a deal currently, doesn't have noticeable difference than 0.6.

    I just mean that there is still much potential to be explored.
    For instance scripts can be made more efficient CPU wise.
    They can be designed in several ways graphically.
    I haven't done much, I have only integrated the blank screen into the script and set it as my default. And I have noticed that the version of overclocker that had graphics instead of text based uses less CPU.

    When I reduce my G50 to quiet office mode the OLED systems use up to 20% of the limited CPU.

    You'll notice I've try doing as much optimization as possible, reducing calls to plugins and frames on the OLED, yet it does 2-4% on my G1S running on "Performance On Demand" 1.2GHz mode, on low power (600MHz) it does like 15-20%... VirusTrinity said that in 0.7 and above versions he's made the text output almost twice faster, which means 2 times lower CPU usage for the same operations as in 0.6, so I think a bit of work on my plugins to work with 0.7 and full revision of the megascript could make it even better. I'll update you as soon as I revision my plugins

    The plugins are compatible, but LCDHype doesn't recognize them until you do a scriptengine.xml file for every plugin describing the functions it exports. That is the easier to do, there is one weird API change that makes the " character reserved and every plugin needs to be recompiled so it doesn't export the strings including such characters. Mind that in previous versions the plugin that exports a string should enclose the string with "...long story short - instead of Charging, the text will be "Charging" and you need to use Str.Replace to replace every " character with empty char so it doesn't look weird...same goes for Skype, MSN, Battery plugins etc.

    Aha. Does the " thing happen with integers, too? The only strings I output to my display are a single letter (for gpu clocks) and the date.

    I have no idea what scriptengine.xml is. I've only dealt with LCDHype code, and never anything outside the program other than unzipping a plugin or making a .bmp file. How do I do a scriptengine.xml file?

    has anyone had any luck getting temp readings using the speedfan plugin? I am trying to write a pretty basic script with cpu/ram usage, temps and time...without using a bulky program like everest. speedfan is very light, but i suspect that the plugin by __jul___ is not working.

    Since I was not able to find the script I needed, I modified the Clock CPU RAM script posted here by Hahutzy to include temperatures from speedfan. The speedfan plugin is also included and you must use LCDhype 0.6 for this. I changed the ram code a bit to more accurately display this info, as well as remove the '0' that would come up even while +1gig was being used. I am using this on a G50vtX5 and everything appears to be correct. The inversion code is altered a tad to fit in accordance with my schedule(2am-5pm then switch).

    EDIT: This also displays free space in GB for the C drive, which is replaced by battery life remaining only when running on batts.

    I recently reinstalled LCDHype after it decided to quit running scripts, and now it runs fine but the OLED is flashing every time it refreshes. The on-screen output display is NOT flashing....what could be wrong?

    Edit: I tried a couple different scripts and have had the same result.
