Ok so today my G50VT X5 started freezing and sometimes rebooting others I have to power down and back up. The problem started suddenly and I started getting an odd screen where the start windows normally screen was replicated and split up into 6. Since I couldn't get into regular windows after reg clean virus scan and driver resets I decided to format. After formatting (or reloading from ghost drive) the computer would hang up at determining your computer performance screen. I decided to swap memory because I had another notebook with the correct memory. Now the computer will get into windows but still freezes up and reboots randomly. Sometimes while trying to play a game sometimes while trying to install new programs. Windows is completely updated. I also ran chkdisk and defrag'd but no improvement.

I am thinking it may be a bad gpu but I was wondering if I can get any advice on this. Thanks for any help.

It sounds like you may have a bad stick of memory, try runing memtest86+ through a few passes as a first step.
