Yes but you'll have to enable it manually through the CoD2 console or in the player cfg, not from the ingame menu.

At 1680x1050, the score is almost the same, so the CPU must be the bottleneck here:

For all those mistaken that think the CPU doesn't really matter in gaming LOL

Actually noticed a member on here has a much higher speed.

@ Idiots posting large scren shots, uh dont think so, pretty sure the game is frame capped. There is no way that game even stresses my cell phone. G50 owners have the ability to see cpu usage in game if it was cpu bottlenecked you would know about it....

All Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War games run excellently on my X1 (1366x768 stock clocks and Driver version 190.38).

Eldar Scrolls IV: Oblivion is running good to great when maxed with HDR but no AA (again 1366x768, stock, 190.38).

Should I even mention Half Life 2 and Counter Strike: Source?

Lastly, 3DMark06, the X1 at stock is scoring ... see sig :)

    That score is at 1280x1024?

Also, you'd get better results with Dox 185.85 drivers. I tried the latest stock ones and they're still not as good as the one's I mentioned.

No, max res of the X1 is 1366x768 so the test was ran at 1280x768.

I'll try DOX's drivers soon, I've been away from the scene for a while so I'll have a look around lol.

Because you don't have a quad core CPU.

Is it the game itself or something to do with hardware?

I find it hard to believe that it would be a hardware problem if it's something that happens with GTAIV and not something else.

Well, no, not really, a patch can't fix this, they would have to recode the whole game to fix this. They've coded the game to run on 360 & PS3, and then ported it to PC, so all Dual Cores suck at playing this game :p

Can you resize the image to 640x480 so the forum displays right?
And I'm pretty new to the scene, so I was wondering, what's "the Ink style" ?

There's a few styles that you can choose in SFIV and I chose the Ink one for that benchmark.

BSOD with NTune is common with these laptops, when you hit the accept for the agreement it will crash.

Installing nVidia System Tools works fine though.

I went out and bought GTA IV anyways today, and was quite surprised with the results compared to what you had told me.

    ACCEPTABLE
Rarely dropping under 25, usually 25-30.
This is with the latest patch. (1.0.4)

    *edit*
I have a mod installed that adds motion blur and soft shadows so that makes gameplay feel smoother...

Aswell I havent gotten any weapons yet so I don't know how low the FPS gets during explosions.

to start, here are my specifications:

Asus G50VT X-5 Best Buy Edition
Intel Core 2 Duo @2.13 Ghz OVERCLOCKED to 2.3 Ghz
    Nvidia Geforce 9800M GS 512MB DDR3 Vram
    4 GB RAM
    320 GB 7200RPM HDD

Ok, so i bought this laptop used about 2 weeks ago from E-bay.
When i first started, everything worked fine.
I updated my 9800M GS drivers, as well as everything else.
NOW, my GPU reaches temperatures of 110C under games like Crysis, Just cause 2, Metro 2033.
The games start out fine, from 30-40 FPS, then drop suddenly to 5FPS, and the cycle just keeps repeating. mind you, this happened AFTER i installed new drivers. the new drivers added Nvidia CUDA and PhysX to my card(could that be causing overheating)?

anyways, i even put all settingd to LOW, and it still reaches 110C. please help me?

P.S. my GPU idles at 65C in a 70F well ventilated room. While under heavy load, i can feel hot air comin out of the vent, and the vent itself is burning hot.  :(

    @calfan3

You've hit the max temp for the 9800, so it will start down clocking to save itself. Its probably due to a build-up of dust in the fans. Flip it over, unscrew the backplate and clean out the fan. This should drop the temps considerably.

UPDATE: so i took the lappy apart, and realized there was NO thermal paste on the VGA, NONE! and the CPU paste was all dried up, im off to radioshack for some AS5, one question, on the hatsink, there are some LIGHT BLUE-colored soft pads that make contact with several multiple components, what are these for?

They're thermal pads for xferring heat across larger heatsink gaps for things like memory. Leave them on where they are and just paste the CPU/GPU dies.

so i put the thermal compund AS5, and now its idling at 70C :(
    i dont know why..... :(

i only used a small dab to cover the cpu and gpu. i might clean it all off and try it again, :(.

when i turned on the cimoputer, i immidieatly turned on GPU-Z, and it said temp was 48C, and i was happy, but it started to climb up.

NOW when i play crysis, it closes itself, instead of lagging, it just closes the program :(

    OH MY GOD! :D

after RE-Applying thermal Paste about FOUR times!, having BOTH the CPU and GPU come loose(I WAS SCARED!), i finALLY LOOKED AT THE cOOLING SYSTEM, and noticed there are THREE stages. first, the case grill(Which was clean, which led me to belive it wasnt dust), then there are little vents for the heatsink, but i DIDINT know!!! beause they were literally CAKED with dust! so i went to Meijer(a sotre like Wal-Mart), bought some pressurized air can, and now im idling at 47C,(Down from 70C) hOORAY!!!! hIP-hip hooray!!! :D :D

THANKS to hidavi AND EVERYONE else who put their input!!! THANKS GUYS!!!! YOU REALLY HELPED OUT A NOOB

    THANKS AGAIN! :)
