So I'm thinking of ordering a G74SX-XR1 but I couldn't help but notice the horribly slow 5400 RPM drive that's inside it.

I currently have the G50VT-A1 with 2 x 250GB drives and I was wondering if I can shove them inside the new G47 and make them work, somehow?

    Is it possible?

    Thanks.

Yes you will be able to move the drives over, but you will want to reinstall the OS.

    I purchased the XR1....
Installed a WD scorpio Black 500 gb in the second drive bay .
Used the free acronis Wd version from the Wd website , to clone the OS, onto the new harddrive.

Then from the bios option , changed the boot option , from disc 0 ,to sisc 1

    Works like a charm
