hey guys i got a g50vt-x5 and the back light only works at certain positions of the screen. like the screen works great. when you shine a flashlight but just the light has problems. gotta opne close it a few times and it might work and you just leave it at the position its in.

anyways my question is. is it the flex wire or the inverter.
i read the threads ppl change the inverter when it doesnt work at all. mine works kinda. or do ineed to replace my whole screen. just wanted to check with you guys before i ordered anything

    thanks slavik/

i took the screen brezel off and found the problem. took a picture. its the wire that connects the screen to the mobo. i touch it with the screw driver and it turn on and off.
do i need a new screen? or they sell it separately?

It's probably the inverter, if you wiggle the cable does it work?

    just found the problem.
took the cap off and the white connector on that cable wasn't in all the way
took it out blow it out. put it back in firmly and it works great now.
