I've had my big blue G50vt-X1 for almost two years now, and less than a week ago, the fan started to make loud, very troublesome grinding noises. Upon opening the back and investigating, the fan spindle or the casing seems to be warped and the fan is scraping against the top of the fan casing on one side. The fan connector is fine and nothing else seems to be wrong. So far, the computer runs just fine, except the very disturbing noise. Warranty expired last month (figures, right?) and I'm looking to get this fixed PRONTO.

Question is - anyone know how easy or expensive it is to get this fixed? I purchased it from Best Buy and right now my only option is to take it to Geek Squad.

That looks like it! Thank you so much, it seems to be quite cheap as well.
