I've been doing some research on batteries/battery charging practices to keep my G51 in the best of health. I currently get 2.5 hours of battery life when surfing/taking notes for class.

I use my computer a lot, and have it plugged in 99% of the time (whenever I'm not in class), so far this hasn't seemed to have any negative effects on my battery life. I read somewhere that I should have it plugged in, but somewhere else that I shouldn't. For now I'll keep leaving it plugged in most of the time (except for note taking in class).

    1) I've never done a complete discharge/calibration for my battery. Should I? I read somewhere that this is bad, but somewhere else that it is good. I'm leaning toward bad, because I read a very good post by an engineer who makes batteries.

    2) How much battery life would I get with a 9 cell?

    3) If I upgrade my CPU to a T9900 (I have a P7350 atm), how much will my battery life decrease?

    4) Can/Should I disable the backlights for improved battery life?

    Battery Info according to HWMonitor:
    -Designed Capacity - 50600 mwh
-Full Charge Capacity - 48994 mwh

I've had the laptop since August '09 or so, and I actually have better battery life now, compared to then. (Undervolted a little bit/powermizer tweaks ftw!)
