It's making a weird whirring sound, not the normal one where it kicks up because of heat. The other day it got really loud to the point where it sounded like a trimmer and my laptop shut off, I'm guessing due overheating; my laptop does run pretty hot idle (65C CPU and 87C GPU). Any advice?

The GPU fan on my G73 died and it seems to be a common enough occurrence with the G73's.

Is your laptop still under warranty?
