Hi, I bought my G51J A1 4-5 months ago and it worked fine until last month when it started developing problems. Most of the problems such as freezing, lock-ups and texture replacements came about when I tried to play Cod Black Ops. I tried many fixes but the problems wouldnt go away.
Infact, I noticed that pixels on the screen scramble sometimes when I use Internet explorer 8. I get alot of "display driver has stopped responding and has since recovered" errors when I stream videos online for a few hours.

Surprisingly, when I run Cod Black ops on battery power, none of the problems happen. After I plug in the power supply, the game works fine for a few minuites before it starts to develop the problems i mentioned.

    Some info on the laptop:
    GPU: Nvidia GTX260m
    CPU: i7 Q720 1.60ghz
    OS: win7 64bit
    Latest video driver

Does anyone know of a similar problem and how it can be resolved? Please reply.

The lock ups/freezing etc, comes from Creative audio software and Sound Audigy software. Uninstall all "creative sound" software from control panel/programs and features.

The video glitchtes might be drivers or the GPU itself. But I need more info. I did notice that sometimes a couple of pixels would be off or weird, and when I moved a window over them, they would switch back to the correct color etc. These were random pixels and I always thought they were driver related, never caused me a problem in nearly a year of use.

Thanks ryzeki, I was hoping that you would reply and you did! :D

The video glitches usually happen when the GPU temperatures reach 75 degrees C and above. It's rather hot here, so I guess the weather's to blame. However, I did notice that the GPU temperature stays around 60degrees C when running Cod Black Ops on battery.

Edit: I ran the game after uninstalling sound blaster audigy HD and creative media source5 but it still had problems. The game would run for a few minuites before texture replacement or other weird graphics problems occur and the computer freezes immediately. However, I can Ctrl+Alt+Del and when I select "open task manager", the game immediately resumes with task manager running in the background. The game would run fine for a few minuites and then the same problem would happen again. The GPU runs pretty hot when all this happens (70-80 degrees C.)
