The 5870 will trample the 260 in all synthetics and most games. G73 would be the clear winner.

    I say All games haha

You have to consider that the G51J has an underclocked GTX260m. I can't match the HD5870 performance unless I heavily overclock, which is not really a good idea for my G51J :D

G73jh. It's not really debatable. It just is. :p

Thanks guys! I'm now considering a G73Jh because of your opinions! ;)

What do you think about XoticPC? I've never bought there. Do they deliver a good service? Are they fast? What about those skins?

I purchased through Xotic. They were great do deal with and are active on these forums.

They can only be as fast as the shipments come in from Asus.

I didn't try the skins. You would ruin the look of the G73 with one of those anyway. Keep it simple and stock, because it looks awesome that way!

G73 would own G51J in everything! Xoticpc.com are excellent resellers from what i heard... just stay away from Btotech.com... they gave ES processors in their laptops instead of normal ones...useless retailers...

Agreed with everything you said. :)

Although I DO love my G51J....but had the G73 been available back in November I'd be a G73 owner. lol

Well I had both and I like both. But if I compare them two, g73jh is a clear winner.
G73 has a better design, better performance, better screen, etc. Tons.
I bought from GentechPC and was very happy with them. I'm definitely ordering from them again, great service, good reliability, etc.

That's interesting. Although they seem not to care about the consequences I'm pretty sure the consumer will have right to another processor in case the ES processor stop working for ANY reason at ANY time. Pretty risky!

Well, the way bto explained it is that his company would be the point of contact for all issues with any laptop ordered from them and not the manufacturer. That should ease that posters mind a little bit. Bto also did offer him a full refund with shipping covered.

I'm a little uneasy about him selling an ES cpu without advertising it as such, but I have a feeling all the resellers are using ES cpu's as their upgrades. I may have jumped the gun on jumping all over bto about this issue because of his brash and cold interactions in this forum on other issues. He does have a really good record on reseller ratings, despite the fact that he seems to get too defensive when someone rubs him the wrong way.
