I just received the Asus G51J-3D and so far it's been a pleasure working with. One question though. It's driving me nuts. I can't for the life of me figure out how to use the three audio jacks for my creative surround sound speakers set. I must use three audio jacks to connect Front L/R, Back L/R and Center/Sub. On my old laptop (MSI GX600P) i just pluged in the audio jacks in the ports on the laptop and selected 5.1 under "speaker configuration" in the Realtek HD Audio Control Panel.

On my new Asus laptop i'm unable to select 5.1 under the speakers configuration. Actually i can't select anything but stereo. The area is "greyed out", and this is really (!) bad news to me as i thought i would be able to use the full capability of my speakers.

So does anyone know if there is a work around to enable 5.1 output on this specific laptop, or do i have to buy an external USB soundcard (ie. Soundblaster X-Fi) to use all of my speakers?

    Thanks in advance :)

IIRC the unit doesn't support 5.1 analog out.

Thanks. I just ordered an external USB device instead. :)
