    Notebook model: G51J-3D

Previously, I have had no problem with the sound from my notebook. When no speakers are connected, the notebook internal speakers will play. When external speakers are connected, the internal speakers auto-off, and the external speakers have sound.

HOWEVER, yesterday I started using a new set of external speakers which uses HDMI cable. Since then, my internal speakers have not been working, even when I unplug the HDMI cable. When I check the Realtek HD Audio Manager, the audiojack for headphone(speakers) is highlighted, even though both my HDMI and speakers cables are NOT plugged in.

I think the notebook seems to think that I still have the speakers cable plugged in? Is there any fix for this? Or is this a hardware problem and need to bring in for repair?

EDIT: Forgot to mention, previously (when there was no problem), when I plug in any headphone/speakers, Windows7 will show a notification informing me that I have plugged in an audio device into the jack. However, now, regardless of what I plug into the headphone/speaker audiojack, there is no notification at all.

    Thanks for advice.

Checked it out, and tried turning the sound in BIOS to 8, but the only thing that changes is that the explosion sound at startup is now much louder.

The Realtek HD audio manager still has the audiojack for Headphone/Speakers lighted up, (which indicates that the system thinks that I have something plugged into that audiojack, and thus keeps the internal speakers OFF), although I have nothing plugged in. I think that is preventing the internal speakers from activating.
