Hello all i tried searching the forum and other places for a answer but could not find it. Anyways i currently have a ASUS Laptop G51JX-X4. The problem is my computer wont dectect my headphones. If i plug in my headphones it will play sounds on both my laptop speakers and headphones simultaniously! I dont get any notification showing that i plugged headphones in but i do get them if i plugged them into the mic input. Do you guys think this is a sound card problem or a software problem. I tried messing with the realtek driver but still nothing. Please help i dont know when this happen but i just remember waking my roomate up thinking i was quiet listening to headphones but like i said the laptop speakers were sounding too. thank you in advance:hi2:

Make sure you are set to 2.1 audio.

Not sure where to start but.... Forget drivers play with settings.

The problem is if a soundcard we are talking about MoBo and that ain't cheap.

I do think there might be hope in "settings".

Hey guys its been awhile since i looked back at this anyways the model i gave you guys is wrong the real one is G60JX. I'm really getting fustrated with the whole laptop playing audio to both my laptop speakers and headphones when ever i have them pluged in. I tried messing with the drivers from ASUS website but i stilll didnt get any process. Except when i unistalled the drivers i noticed if i would try to plug anything to any of the jacks(headphones, mic) i would not get a notification and they would not work. But when i install realtex drivers. The other two jacks are fuctioning and the laptop gives me a notification saying i plugged a device into the jack, Except i dont get that message for the headphone jack. Im really stumped , any help would be great. I would hate to carry around a USB headphone jack. Any solutions? below is a screen picture of my sound settings. The digital output one is for my tv hdmi connection. Untitled.png

There may be a problem on the PCB not triggering the cut off if no software is fixing it.

Exactly, are the sound ports soldered onto the main motherboard or a removable daughter board?
