    Ok two problems exist with this laptop, and have since it was new.
    1. Sound does not work until the laptop is put in sleep mode, then taken back out. Without fail on boot, the sound will not work. The only way to make it work is to put the laptop in sleep, then wake it up.
    Fixes tried:
    * Re-install audio driver
    * Update driver
    * Change bitrate quality
    * Bios update

    2. Every so often the fan runs full speed even though the computer isn't hot, and it never stops running until you turn off the computer. It's triggered sometimes on boot and sometimes after bringing the computer out of sleep or hibernate.
    Fixes tried:
    * Bios update

    This thread is mostly for troubleshooting in case anyone else has the same issue since it is still under warranty. I just wonder if there is a way to fix it. Otherwise, it's back to Best Buy for a replacement/upgrade.

    I have a G50vt with a 260m GTX in it. If i use the 260m, my fans run @ 100% all the time. Using the standard 9800m however, my fans ramp up as they should. It sounds like your fan does the same thing.

    Just letting you know youre not alone.
