G51vx - Replacing dead GTX 260m - Does the part number have to be exactly the same?

Haven't been on here in a long, long time. Anyway, my aging 5 year old G51vx (details in sig), despite all the care it's been given, had been acting up recently by randomly giving me the BSoD when playing video. This morning on youtube, the driver stopped responding, I got artifacts and then the BSoD. The artifacts remain and I can get into the desktop for just a few seconds, if at all. I'm currently in safe mode.

I'm guessing the GTX 260m graphics card is pretty much dead and am thinking to just buy a replacement on eBay.

My question is, does the part number have to be exactly the same? There are a few different part numbers for the G51/G60 GTX 260m, and even though they look to be exactly the same shape with the same components, I don't want to run into any incompatibility issues.

    Mine is

    PN:60-NV3VG1000-D01
    PT: N0A80946VG0010812 69N0E0V10D01-01

It must be specifically an asus card yes, they are visually distinct like the one linked.

    Thanks for the replies.

I understand they have to be asus g51vx specific cards, but do I have to worry about the part number being the same?

For example, on that card linked the part number is 69N0E0V10C03-01, but my one is 60-NV3VG1000-D01. They look exactly the same and the chipset is the same with G92-751-B1 written on it. They're both for the G51vx but the part number differs shown on a sticker stuck on the card like here:

NotLim, was your old card and new card's part number the same or different?

Hmm it's on a sticker that should be on the front of the card. If there's no sticker than I suppose it was removed.

It would depend, so long as it's the same chip with the same core configuration you should be fine.
