I've got the dreaded broken headphone jack that seems to be all the rage with this model of laptop. I've got a couple of questions regarding it.

First of all, from looking at the disassembling guide for the laptop, they remove the led before accessing the guts of the laptop. Has anyone been able to access the I/O card without having to basically gut everything? I don't want to start ripping apart the laptop without a spare I/O card ready to go.

And therein lies the second question. Does anyone has a spare I/O board laying around from this or a similar model of laptop they would be willing to either sell or give me? I have been using the registry hack of forcing sound output through the speakers, but then when I am on vent or skype the feedback issues are dreadful. Would a headset solve this problem? Yes. Do I like doing things the hard way? Hell yes!
