So, i'm carrying my lap almost every day to highschool, and the weight is really noticeable. I think that by changing the power adapter for a lighter one could help.

My question is, what cons could have changing the adapter? I mean, the original one has to have a reason for being so big, doesn't it?
I actually think that a smaller adapter would carry higher temperatures, and the actual one does get quite hot after a while when gaming.
    Cheers.

I don't think you will be able to find one that is light enough to make a real difference, if you can even find one that is lighter at all.

I purchased an identical one and I just leave one at my office and one at home so I don't have to carry them back and forth every day. If I travel somewhere other than the office I just grab the one at home and pack it up in my laptop bag. Is there somewhere at school you could leave one, in a locker perhaps?

By the way, I assume you are not gaming while you are at school though, right? :)

Your laptop uses a LOT of power. That requires larger parts inside and more bulk for cooling. Smaller units will likely either not supply enough power to run your laptop or try to, and overheat. Neither option is good for your computer.

Well, it's imposible for me leaving one at school, there's no place where it can be safe. And hey, we just play at boring classes, that should be allowed :p

Thanks KimoT for clearing that up.

No, it shouldn't be. You should either skip class, or pay attention. No point in wasting space. Chances are that SOMEONE finds YOU boring, or your computer distracting. And, chances are that your teacher finds you boring (at the minimum).

As for an extra power cable, just wear big pants and get a targus universal. It's shaped differently so if you could get a flask into your pocket you can fit the targus in the same spot.
