    Hey,
So, I feel there must be a problem with my new G53SW. It has the "weaker" i5 core (supposedly only weaker than the i7 for multi-thread programs), but otherwise should still be putting out lots of power.

However, all my attempts to play any games (largely MMOs... not well known for being on the cutting edge of graphics) have lead to frustration. The computer only seems to tolerate the games at absurdly low FPS. Even if I drop graphics to min, they're only just acceptable.
And this shouldn't be a weak machine, right??

Any suggestion as to what to do? GPU is up to date as of today... View attachment DxDiag.txt

Are you using the latest 280.26 driver for your GPU? You shouldn't have any problems running those games on your laptop. Which games are you talking about? Do you play on steam?

I thought I was. The dxdiag I linked should answer that, right?

I downloaded one the other day, but it wouldn't let me install. I looked online and someone said it was because there was a special one for Asus. So I downloaded the one off their site.

what specific game are you playing, what settings are you on? did you do a clean install or remove the bloatwares? Did you leave a lot run in the background while you're gaming? also as falcon asked, what driver are you on right now?

Where did you download the nvidia driver from? Chastity's page? I think her's should work for you with the modded inf file.

My Driver page has a modded 280.26 WHQL for people that cannot install the normal Verde package.
