I'm about to pull the trigger on a G53SW-XA1 but am having trouble deciding between that and a G73SW-XN2. It looks like the only difference between the two (besides screen size of course) is the G53 has an illuminated keyboard - which is a nice feature. Is there another difference I am missing somewhere?

Also - is it possible to add in a Blu-Ray player ? With the 1920 resolution it would be perfect for playing those. In fact, I was originally considering the Dell XPS15 until I noticed I could have the video capability of a 460 for about the same price.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts/comments!

All G53 and G73 series laptops have illuminated keyboards. ;)

That, even if it's not explicitly mentioned. Get the one with the screen size that suits you the most. Except for the size, they can accommodate the same hardware.

You can upgrade with any slim BD player, not hard to upgrade either.

Good to know they are all illuminated. As for the Blu-Ray - I was thinking to add later since it looks like getting one *with* a Blu-Ray initially will cost hundreds more.

The G73 series panels are a better quality than the G53 series IMO.

3D panel on G53 it's too dark imo but FULL HD looks almost the same on both...
