My laptop display doesn't dim after 5 minutes of being idle like it used to. I changed the power settings but that didn't help. The screen is always at 100% even after an hour of being idle. I don't have anything actively running. Even if I leave the laptop idle after restarting it, it still doesn't dim.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Nope, I uninstalled that when I first got the laptop 3 months ago. This is a new problem that I never had before.

Without P4Gear all you need to do is right click on the battery icon,

    Select Power options,

Select change plan settings for the non P4Gear Plan you want to use

This brings up Dim the display, When to turn off the display, When to put the computer into sleep.

I've already tried playing with the power settings. The screen used to dim before, but now it doesn't.

Sounds like you made a software change and now your software doesn't work right. Maybe asking for information on a specific hardware is too narrow a topic for your problem. Example: My car has a flat tire. Do I make a post "2003 Blue Honda Civic LX w/ optional chrome trim drives funny" or do I search for information directly related to my problem?

As you know what your problem is, I recommend you look for solutions directly related to it.

I think (but cannot be sure) that you've changed some power settings ... but not the right ones. Perhaps you've modified the balanced profile, but are currently using the high performance one.
