I have 2 22" Viewsonic 2255wmb monitors I'm currently using on my desktop. I have a G53 ordered, and I would like to use these 2 monitors on my laptop with it closed when I'm at my desk.

What are my options? I'd like it to be simple and work whether the laptop is on or off when I hook them up, and be good enough to game on one while browsing the web on the other.

If the laptop is off, they will not work..

I had tried 2 screen on my G73, but I wanted all 3 screen to work.
I could have 2 work at a time with differant pictures.

So this should work, if you want just the 2 monitors to have a picture.

One has to be HDMI and the other will be VGA, unless there is an HDMI splitter. I am not sure if that is for sale and work well..

A USB VGA out put sucks....

I think I read that the laptop wont be able to do both video outputs at the same time. Is this not true? When I say work when it's on or off, I mean that I don't want to be required to turn off the laptop, plug in monitors, turn laptop on. I'd rather just plug them up and have it recognize and work regardless of laptop state when it starts.

Also, my Displays are DVI/VGA, do HDMI>DVI adapters work well?

I read in another forum that if I do need to use a USB display adapter, it should be fine for the net but gaming will suck, in your experience, does it suck both ways?

You should be able to run the two external fine but not all 3 at once. Also, you may have to keep the laptop nearby and open because the computer won't wake from plugging in displays, you have to push the power button and then close the display if you'd like after boot/wake. Finally you will want a good quality VGA cable if you want the other display to have acceptable text
