    G53JW Clock Speed on Prime 95?

    I'm not too sure how Turbo Boost works with the 720QM, but when running Prime 95, my clockspeeds are 1.87GHz? Is that right?

    Did you run prime95 with 8threads? I think 1.87ghz could be true, then it's a multiplier of 14 on all cores and without boost the clock is 1.6ghz this would be a multiplier of 12.

    If you have a G73JW then you will have the 740QM surely? That runs at 1.73Ghz when all 4 cores are active and as mentioned turbo boost can raise that slightly.

    Check you do not have the Twin Turbo button turned on as that would give you an extra 10% and push you upto around 1.87ghz.

    Sorry, I meant 720QM and 1.73GHz with workers active on all 8 threads.

    I'm guessing with all 4 cores are active, the clock speed is than if one core is active? I'm seeing 2.00 GHz while I'm typing right now and I don't have anything running other than IE.
