Hi everyone, i have a G53JW from newegg, the max temp since the first day i bought it was and is 93C, but there is a problem, now all my games hit this temp, and i have an FPS drop whenever it hits 93c for about 10-15fps, i have no throttling in gpu and cpu i monitor my clocks while gaming, i dont understand why it does this, i have no overclock, can you help me? ( Furmark and OCCT stops both at 93c)

Did you check to see if your CPU is getting too high and throttling?

Throttle stop LOG While Hitting 93C i dont think it throttle -
Let's go over the basics then:
1) Are you running the tests while Power Plans are set to High Performance?
2) Are you running them on AC power attached? PowerMizer will drop speed on battery.
3) What drivers are you using?
4) What other applications are running while you test? -
1) Yes Power Plans are at High Performance
2) I run With AC Power attached! ( I dont notice throttle on the GPU clocks, i monitor with Afterburner)
3) 275.50
4) Afterburner and ThrottleStop
As i said, Once it hits 93c, i have a drop of 10-15FPS, in games where i have big FPS its not noticeable, but in games more demanding, 10fps less is very frustrating! I dont understand How FPS Can drop Without Throttling of Clocks in the gpu and cpu oO, can it be Driver problem? -
It could be, as I am not discounting that it could be a muxxed up driver install. I would rerun the installer, and use the Optional install with "Clean Install" ticked on
-
Same problem, In furmark for example, the Temp go between 92-93 all time, when it hit 92 its 20FPS, when it goes to 93 12Fps, And it goes like that in games too
-
Can you try monitoring your GPU clocks with GPU-Z? I'm not sure if that will be able to detect what's going on. The CPU looks fine.
-
As i said, i monitor them with Afterburner, when i run furmark, the Clocks are Stable in the diagram, i am sure its not a throttle, its like a throttle of FPS oO to reduce the charge on the GPU maybe, to go down to 92c
-
CPUs can throttle internally and software never used to be able to detect that. I was just wondering if GPUs are doing the same thing. That's why I was interested to see if GPU-Z would be able to detect this problem or not.
-
Same thing in gpu Z, no throttle in any sensor

Do you think i should Update VBIOS? If yes, where can i have it?
-
I do not think a vBIOS change will help you. I think a repaste may be in order of the cpu/gpu, or an RMA to have them troubleshoot it.

i have exactly 100% the same problem, REALLY,exactly everything !
same tempratures same programs same laptops same everything, i even bought it from newegg !
i already cleaned the vents with a compressed air, but still same problem.
i ran a little test, i opened the stand fan in my room and pointed it to the back of my laptop, I MEAN UNDERNEATH the laptop, my tempratures are now hitting 85c on furmark OVERCLOCKED to 800-1500-1600.
i noticed that only a cooler would solve the problem, so i just ordered one from newegg, and now i am still waiting for the cooler to ship.
hopefully it will decress the tempratures to 85c or less (which will stop the throttle for the gpu).
it is really wierd problem as my clocks (when it used to reach 93c) never went to its default or showing any signs of throttlin ........ i guess there is something wrong, because other people are getting 77c max tempratures on the same laptop but with the newer versions (sandy bridge i7 ones). -
No 77c its on G73, 93 is on all G53, no game push my laptop to 93 so its not a real problem for me, and the GPU do not stay at 93 it jumps from 92 to 93 so the throttle in fps doesnt affect the gameplay or a little
-
no 77c on g53sw the new ones (sandy bridge ones).
and yes it jumpes from 93c to 92c and the fps drops thats why it keep jumping form 93c to 92, to prevent it from going higher.
