Hello everybody,
I finally decide to open a thread on my issue.
A few weeks ago, my asus g53jw had a display problem : the darker colors display matrix-green striped all over the screen. The white colors display pink. Awful anyway, even worst if you imagine I work in the graphic industry.
Following the awesome guides available here on the forum, I changed the LCD screen by a brand new one. But the problem remain the same, same green lines. So I figured out that the screen was not the issue...
I decided to change the LVDS cable. I disassemble and reassemble the g53 again with a brand new LVDS cable, assuming that maybe the old one had been damaged. But when I switch the computer on, it loads, the screen lights, but remain black, with the notable exception of one green pixel on the lower right.
I was full of hope, but now I don't understand nothing anymore. I will disassemble it again and check the way I connected the lvds cable. But before to do that, I wanted to get the advice of someone here who knows computers better than me... Maybe someone could tell, with those informations, "yes for sure, your cable is on a wrong position", or "no your graphic card is broken". Because I will not be able to change the GC, and the disassembling process is a lot of stress, and I really fear to eventually break one of all those little brackets inside...
I have to mention that when I plug a screen on the vga output, it displays correctly. So I can see within the nvidia manager both screens : the vga and the notebook screen.
Thanks.
EDIT : I restart the computer, and now the notebook screen doesn't light itself anymore. And it doesn't appears, in the nvidia manager nor in the device manager. Also, I see in that thread : http://forum.notebookreview.com/thr...colors-lcd-or-lcd-cable.779334/#post-10054327 that it could be solved by flashing the bios ??

That's the video bios, it could be the lvds driver chip on the motherboard with issues. Try powering the machine where you can easily swap cables and screens. If the board needs to be out the case to do it then so be it.

Thanks for your suggestions. I finally decide to open the laptop and check connections again. Fortunately, after reseating both ends of the lvds, everythings worked fine. Except that little stuck green pixel. But that's another story !
For sure, I would have loved to test the different combinations before to close the case, but after 3-4 times open and close the laptop, it comes more easily. The screws are suffering a little bit... -

Yes they are not designed to be taken apart many times (initially by a novice with the casing too). Glad you got it sorted though
