    Hi all,

First of all, please don't prejudice about the issue, it's certainly not software-related. Here is the problem:

We all know G53 (even G74) series have poor speaker volume levels, but this time the problem is rustling, crackling, scratching audio while speakers are idle (no music playback or audio operation, even with external speakers) if you pay attention too much. It seems a static and magnetic noise coming from audio channel BOTH with built-in and any hi-quality external speakers caused either by a poor audio cabling or interferencing issue or Realtek-hardware problem itself.

    Reproducing issue is easy:

1- Stick your ears next to built-in speakers (or plug-in a good quality external speakers to headphone jack, it doesn't matter).

2- With your ears sticked next to speakers, press power button to power up notebook.

3- Until Windows logon screen appears, you'll hear NO scratching / crackling noise, when logon screen first appears, your ears that are sticked next to speakers will start hearing the dirty, static noise ( scratching / sizzling noise).

The audio sounds like a sound of cash register in markets. Intermittent and annoying, you need to stick your ears next to speakers to hear the issue.

Here are what i've tried and made no difference:

    - Disabling all the enhancements, effects through both Control Panel or Realtek HD Audio Manager.
    - Muting speakers!
    - Muting microphone both in playback and recording section including mic boost.

So, it's certainly not a software or configuration issue, it's related to the dirty audio channel going inside the audio components. Even when i mute speakers completely, the problem is audible. I'm running on Win7 SP1. I never had such static audio noise on other computers so it must be related to the part of Asus's poor audio design or Realtek itself.

Note: I checked lots of Realted audio chips, and none of them made me find that kind of annoying issue. If you start playing a audio file like an MP3, it won't be notable because it'll be melted away by the ongoing song.

Any ideas and insights about this flaw?

Nobody? Nobody have noticed such intermitten scratching, rustling noise since when logon screen first appears? It's notable when you bring your ears over the speakers, and even more notable when you connect external speakers!

Where are Asus representative(s)? I found such flaws on that baby (paid 1500 bucks!) that my 5-year-old and 500 dollars-worth of notebook doesn't have!

Disappointing quality / design of Asus!

    lol / its Asus again.
try uninstalling audio drivers and reinstall them, if problem not solved
do a fresh install of windows 7 and install only the reqired drivers.

Unfortunately that wouldn't help, it doesn't seem to be a driver / software issue since the intermittent sizzle-like noise seem to have been there due to voltage interferencing or dirty audio channel.

Nobody have tested or paid attention to that? At least G53(JW) owners?
