    G53JW-A1 Locking up

    Anyone have a random lockup issue? I do not get a BSOD or anything just locks up and have to hold the power button to power down. It almost seems liek the Seagate Momentus HDD is locking up or freezing cause this. Run disc clean up and no issues. AVG PC Tune up 2011 doesnt find any error nor does disc check (long check or short check). Ideas?

    what's your windows OS? preformatted? or fresh install?

    Windows 7 home premium, factory OS install, 8gb ram, 750Gb Seagate Momentus ST9750420AS. Locks up randomly and I have noticed sometimes certain task take longer than normal for no reason i.e. Opening the same file one time few seconds another time minutes.

    does it come back to live ? or have to hard reset ?

    Mines locks dead after a few hours of non-use.. but this is only with fresh win7 install. weird huh

    It always reboots and works fine for some time.

    sounds like HDD, does HDD make funny sounds? .. is it new ? if so i would get it checked/replaced..

    No noise, I'm in Iraq though. I have a Momentus XT 320GB I can clone with Acronis tonight and install it in the morning once its complete. I guess I will try it.
