    Hey everyone,

I am going to be getting a laptop for college in the fall, and am wondering what the battery life for the G53SW is? I don't want to get a laptop with anything less than 4, and I hear the asus is 2 hours at max. Does it have optimus?

    Thanks

No optimus on the G53SW though the 2.5h mark seem a bit low to me. If you can find a way to agressively downclock you GPU and kill all the lights you might be able to get to 3 hours, just enough for a lecture. I can't guarantee it though since i don't have a G53 to test it on.

I do not have a G53 only the G73. These laptops are not built to work on battires....

    Or buy 3 battiers...

Look at a IBM Think pad.. they have a new 15 inch with 25 hour batter life...

.. I haven't heard that much battery life on a thinkpad that size! I use lots of t410/420 and s models with work. Is that standby time? Either way im perked to test on my next system!
