I have recently bought a G53SW-XN1 from newegg and I have been happy with it so far but as of today it has started freezing after 5 mins of gameplay. It has done this in both Mafia 2 and Bad Company 2. I have restarted and cleared the CMOS and let it sit for an hour. I ran furmark and the max temp I reached was 93C and i was stable at 92. I am beginning to suspect the ram as the cause of the freezing. As I did take a 2 gig stick out of my old G73 and I put it in my G53 so I would have 8 gig ram. I know I need to run Memtest but I am at a friends house for the weekend so I cant burn a disk. Can anyone help me out? :(

Yeah I would run memtest on it. Or take the G73 RAM out and see if it stops freezing.

Do you have a USB stick? There's an installer for making a bootable USB stick here: Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool

It will wipe whatever is on it, so back it up first if you need to keep what's on the USB stick before running the memtest86+ installer.

Ah ok, I will try the bootable USB stick option. I really dont want to have to take apart my G53 just to get to the RAM if that's what it takes then I guess I have too.
