So I bought a WesterDigital external hard drive with USB3.
Problem is when trying to transfer anything over i get messages saying it cant read from the disk (try again, skip, cancel). Try again or skip might work once or twice but then the hard drive is gone, it sometimes come back but u have to start over and it happens again right away.
Putting it in USB2 works just fine and newest driver is installed and WD just have a format driver.

Any ideas on how to get it to work in the USB3? Mouse works fine in USB3, so its just when u wanna trasfer something over.

It could be the cable and your port not liking each other or the port not giving out enough power to make the drive actually spin. Does the drive come with a dual plug cable to give extra power?

No power cable, just the usb cable that it gets it power from.

This is the kind of cable i meant:

    A to Micro-B USB 3.0 Y Cable, Black: Amazon.ca: Electronics

I have a USB3.0 drive that requires extra power supplied from a second USB port on USB3.0, but not on USB2.0. It's a not so uncommon issue really. If you don't have a cable like that, your problem is likely that the drive is not receiving enough power.
