I got my G53SW from Amazon US last June and have been in the UK since then. About three months after I bought it, I got the connector problem, where the pin fell out. It's the same issue that's been plaguing this model for a while. I filed an RMA, the notebook was picked up, fixed and returned in about two weeks. Two weeks ago, the pin broke again. I filed the RMA, the system was picked up, and showed as "Repairing" on the website. Today I got an email saying that the part they need to finish the repair won't be in until June 26th. Conservatively speaking, that means by the time a year would have elapsed on the ownership of this machine, it would have been in repair about 2 months total.
I know the repair facility in the UK has a terrible reputation, and there's nothing to be done about that. But being without the machine for this long is going to be kind of difficult. Does anyone know of a case when Asus has sent out a loaner machine for a repair that took longer than usual? I don't need to run games on it (although that's what the G53 was supposed to be for,) just anything that won't go paws up running a browser and open office at the same time.

In UK, 1 month is the repair turnover time. it's there policy not to give you a replacement or escalate the problem until its been 30 days since RMA date.
I had 2 RMA done, the 1st took 29 days (Screen replacement) and the other 19 days (Motherboard Replacement). in both case they sent me a email stating that the part will come in 1 month's time. But it usually arrives earlier most of the time.
As long as the warranty was valid when they received it, they will fix it.
