So, I have an Asus G53SW-A1, and recently (early September) bought an Intel SSD.
It apparently has been running fine, but checking Event Viewer I see The IO operation at logical block address LNLNLNL for Disk 1 was retried. Where LNLNLNL is a random 7 character string.

I've also got "Driver detected an internal error in its data structures for ." where there SHOULD be something in front of the period, but there isn't. I DID try to install Alcohol 52%, but it kept failing.

Should I ditch the SSD and go back to my Momentus XT? Or are there other issues? I checked my temps with Throttle Stop and CPU/GPU were 40-50C.

    Thanks.

Ok so ... I've narrowed it down. It is NOT the SSD.
Kaspersky was causing issues, and I removed it, and haven't bluescreened since.

Another problem, however, is that now when I play games, be they Need For Speed Word, or Euro Truck Simulator 2, the GPU temp skyrockets from 50C to 80C in under 20 minutes. I have to pause the game, go back to the desktop for 5 or so minutes to drop it back to 60C and play for 15 more minutes, rinse and repeat.
It's probably the thermal as I saw some of it squeezing out the edges yesterday, when I opened up the machine. I'll take it in to the office in Markham early tomorrow and get it repasted.

That kind of temperature behavior is normal,80C in no cause for concern hardware wise, if you're experiencing throttling like other SW owners, that's a different issue, but 80C is a perfectly safe temperature.
